Customer Reviews
We recently had a handful of trees removed from our property, some of which were in a tight spot on a hill between houses. I was super impressed with the teams' ability to work with the area given to get the job done in a timely manner without any damage. Each interaction with the folks at Van Yahres has felt professional and positive, from the initial quote visit through the last stump grinding. When we need further tree-work done on our property we will definitely be calling them.
I had several overgrown trees in my yard that I've been needing to have pruned/trimmed back for years, but had experienced a heck of a time trying to get in touch with other companies. I had not heard of Van Yahres, but when they were recommended to me via Facebook post, I gave them a call. Guess what? They answered. Immediately. And every time I called thereafter. Not only that, but they were always very polite, courteous, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. They scheduled a time to come out to access my property, and they arrived when they said they would. They scheduled to come back in five weeks, and again, they came and completed the job. I'm very pleased with the service that they provided and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for tree servicing in the area.
I simply cannot say enough good things about the Van Yahres crew who just did remarkable work at my home. In about five hours they pruned, chipped, braced, re-shaped, and cleaned up beautifully. The crew was great - energetic, knowledgeable, focused, and friendly. Their work was just splendid in every respect. When I need more work in the future, I would request this same crew whose teamwork and efficiency coupled with the marvelous result of their efforts was just tops ~!! Absolutely First-Rate ~!!! M. I rarely take the time to write a review however, a recent very favorable experience with the Van Yahres Tree Company has prompted me to write a few lines... We've used various tree companies for our property and recently asked Van Yahres to look at a 100 year old maple that was dropping large limbs. We were concerned we might need to take it down as it is near our house. Brian, the Van Yahres arborist, came out to do a free consult. Brian was very knowledgable and his recommendations were thorough and specific (and did not involve the more expensive felling but rather strategic limbing, root fertilization and ivy removal). I asked about cutting off one large limb that looked distressed - he said no - that would further weaken the tree, rather he advised lightening it up while keeping foliage that will continue to provide nourishment. At this point I called my husband out to listen as well... I asked Brian about another tree. Yes, it was showing some signs of internal decay but since it wasn't near a structure, he didn't see any need to have it addressed. In short, rather than advising us to do expensive work that was not needed, his advise was strategic and appropriate. Additionally, I found the office very organized. The contract was delivered promptly, billing was easy. I was also surprised Van Yahres could come out within a week. It's a busy time with a lot of storms but they have good capacity. In short, it's a very well-run office with a deep knowledge base. Having worked with other tree companies, I see why Van Yahres has such a strong reputation - the level of service is well beyond what I expected.
Van Yahres has provided tree services for us twice since we moved to the Charlottesville area in 2021. I initially chose the company because it is family owned, and I am very happy with the results. Each time we need service, Bryan’s (arborist) expertise is invaluable. He takes the time to walk the four acre property and assess pruning and removal, but also educates us about the trees we have. The work performed is neat and professional, and the crew takes great care with safety measures. We periodically need ash treatments from Aaron, who is also a wealth of knowledge. Thank you, Van Yahres!
