The Davey Tree Expert Company

We have a Pin Oak tree that may be 50 years old. It developed a crack in the trunk at the V joint of the 2 major branches. We wanted cabling to be done in hopes of saving the tree. Cade and Shane came to do the work. I am inquisitive and Cade was patient with my questions about the work. He explained what would be done and how they would complete the job. The 2 gentlemen worked well together, safety was their priority. They were respectful of each other, my husband and myself and our tree and property. They do NOT use spikes to climb the tree, that could injure the tree. They did the work as described, and cleaned up the work site. We have made the best effort possible to save the tree by calling Davey! I would definitely call Davey Tree again!

Ran into Shane and Chris in the parking lot at the Center of Clayton and pointed out a robin tangled in a tree branch and hanging upside down. They quickly jumped into action to save the bird. Really appreciate them going above and beyond the call of duty! And really appreciate them being in St Louis this week to help with our storm recovery after the tornado. Thanks guys!

A trusted neighbor told me about The Davey Tree Expert Company. Ben, the Davey arborist, reviewed all my trees and addressed a specific concern of mine about the safety of several large birch trees. He explained what needed to be done, answered my questions, sent a proposal, and we settled on the work. On the scheduled day, Shane and Cade, two Davey leaders of the work crew, arrived on time fully prepared to work. Shane and I reviewed the scope of the project and he made sure I understood why the work was needed, what would be done, and what to expect when completed. Shane got my permission and my neighbor's permission to move their trucks onto our driveways. I appreciated him taking extra steps to safeguard our properties. I watched the crew setup and perform the work, always with a regard for their own safety and the potential for damage to trees and property. They worked efficiently as a team. They removed all clipped branches and cleaned the area thoroughly. When finished, Shane explained what they did, any issues they encountered (there was none), and things I would need to do in the future to ensure continued benefits. Shane and Cade were professional, knowledgeable, and personable representatives from The Davey Company. I enjoyed working with them and would use The Davey Company again on other projects.

We are very satisfied with the work performed by Davey’s. The Davey’s trio that handled our 2 separate sites were Shane, Cade, and Chase. They were; 1. On time - so many contractors set a time, and then 2 hours later you’re still waiting for them to show up. 2. Knowledgeable – they were able to take out overhanging branches to get them back from our roof and driveway, while having to climb very high up in our River birch trees (which extend well above our roof) 3. Efficient – they had 2 men climbing trees and removing limbs one in the front and one in the back yard, while the third collected and ground up tree limbs and cleared the residual leaves from the yard. This required a large truck for hauling the ground materials and a large grinder, along with the necessary climbing and cutting gear in a second truck. 4. Client focused - While they had spoken to Byron our initial contact about the details of the job, they still discussed specifics request before beginning major work and made sure we were satisfied with the finished job, before climbing out of the trees and packing up.

Ben was great to work with. He came out to assess a few of our trees that we had concerns about and was prompt, knowledgeable, and personable. We had to remove one of our trees and the crew that came out knocked it out without any issues. Shane and Cade then came to remove the stump and also were friendly, communicated with us well, and did a great job. Not the first time we’ve used Davey and won’t be the last! We’ve had nothing but good experiences.
