David and his crew spent an entire day on site taking down a large maple tree in our back yard. You've seen it many times in your neighborhood, but not like this ... Meticulously setting up plywood runways to protect the lawn, standing plywood to block damage to bushes and pool, for an hour before even revving up the machines. All cuts were 100% under control of rope lines and carried out to the street for grinding and haul away. Stump removal was more than just grinding into a pile. The crew did the full landscape prep work to remove chips, grade the area, and leave behind a space ready for topsoil installation. Then, they spent another 1-2 hours disassembling their runway and leaf blowing the entire area to leave behind no evidence that they were there. The lawn was fluffed up and cleaner when they left than when they arrived! This crew was polite and worked together non-stop with great teamwork. ... You get what you pay for when it comes to contractor pricing, and their work was well worth the price. We miss our tree, but it is much easier to accept when you are not left with a mess to deal with afterwards. Your project will get this same great service.
The crew showed up on time and did an outstanding job. They were extremely careful around the house and while on the property. Clean-up was well-done; all brush was chipped and the larger pieces I wanted to keep were left in a neat pile exactly where I wanted it. I highly recommend Woodchuck for any tree service needs.
I just want to shout out to Jake and the crew of woodchuck tree service that they did an outstanding job. From the time they started at 7:30 they were non-stop till 4:15. Every branch removal was carefully done especially since there was electrical wires on three sides. They were also very cautious and careful of the concrete sidewalk and driveway by laying down 4x8 sheets of plywood covering the work area. Once the tree was down then the stump removal began and they were at it for hours making sure they had a large enough radius catching all the roots. Finally the cleanup again was over the top very thorough absolutely an fantastic job.
Jake and his team were absolutely amazing! They arrived promptly to assess the fallen tree limb damage and gave me a reasonable quote (another tree service happened to see the tree down and were kind enough to stop and give me a quote as well, which was quoted 1000 dollars higher than what jake gave me and did not include the stump grinding). The day of the removal they arrived promptly in the early hours with their equipment. They made quick and very clean work of bringing down the tree and were done within 4 hours. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently they worked (I was glued to the window watching, ha!). I really really appreciate that they took the time to lay down pallets and such to not leave me lawn all ripped up, leaf blowed debris and dust and left my lawn in the same condition as it was before the removal. Also worth mentioning - I live on a very busy street and the road is only a one lane, no shoulder or parking. They managed their equipment and vehicles well and also had a person on the road with slow/stop sign to manage traffic. 10/10, would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone else.
Woodchuck Tree Service was contracted to clear the tree line / vegetation on the far side of the vacant lot next to our property. The crew operated the equipment competently and stayed within their work zone, which I’ll acknowledge. That said, the job dramatically altered the landscape and removed the natural privacy buffer that has existed for decades. There was no advance notice from the contractor, no on-site communication before starting, and no effort to explain the scope of what was about to happen. For a project of this scale, that’s a real oversight. Not a bad team, but definitely not a consumer focused one. If they’re working near your home, expect competence, not communication.
