Very happy with Wachtel Tree Science. Ron was very professional and came out to our home, gave us written estimate that detailed the work. On the day of the service, Eric and Melina came out. They were friendly, professional and explained what steps they were going to do. The had to use a mobile lift to get up to the trees. They operated the lift skillfully and with great care as the terrain was a challenge. The tree trimming/removal was done efficiently and they made sure to clean up afterwards. Their prices were competitive with another quote I had. I highly recommend them.
Nolan G, Andrew F, Eric S & Jake C were great to work with! Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient - will be recommending to anyone who’s looking for tree care!
Early this year we moved from flat farmland to an area dominated by towering oaks, many of which are well more than 100 feet tall. A supporting cast of maples, the occasional elm, black walnuts, and a variety of conifers fill in much of the remaining space. It’s a magnificent place to be! On the advice of the previous owners, we hired Wachtel to tend to the feeding and disease prevention needs of these old beauties. Then we realized that exurban trees, like their cousins in forests, tend to occasionally ‘self-prune.’ They fairly often drop branches, and occasionally hefty limbs. Those limbs can be seriously injurious to homes, vehicles, and people. We enlisted Wachtel to help us make a plan to protect ourselves and our property. They advised us in the selection of trees to be judiciously pruned, and promptly provided a bid to implement the plan. We were happy with Wachtel’s proposal, and we contracted to have them prune this autumn. The crew from Wachtel showed up with two 90 foot lifts and a massive chipper. Although they worked quickly and efficiently, they seemed to maintain a healthy focus on safety – both theirs and ours. After a good day's work they cleaned up the area nicely. On the second day of work they found that the winds had picked up enough that they could not safely do our high altitude work. They moved on to a different job that didn’t demand such extreme heights. When the Wachtel crew arrived again, they promptly got to work, and seemed to have the aerial work finished in just a couple of hours. Then they set about the task of thoroughly cleaning up the work area. In this sort of work, there’s a lot of opportunity for ‘collateral damage.’ We were very pleased with not only the actual work done to the trees, but for the care of the area, as well. We are completely satisfied with what they did. It will probably be a couple of years before we again need significant tree work. When we do, we’ll call Wachtel. We hope that we’ll see Eric, Adam, and Melina again. But if they aren’t available, we feel confident that Wachtel will provide another motivated and competent crew.
We've used Wachtel for several years for anything tree related (trimming, planting, cabling/bracing, disease treatments). Our arborist RJ is topnotch and we have developed a lot of trust for his recommendations. Pricing is fair, and the employees who perform the services have always been very professional and talented. Most recently we had a redbud planted by Matt and Josie, and they did a fantastic job with the installation, cleanup, deer fencing, and in educating us afterward how to best care for the new tree. I'd highly recommend Wachtel.
Eric and Pooch did a great job trimming my 15 yr old River Birch. It looks fabulous and we are in great shape for another 2-3 years. Eric listened to my concerns and when trimming questions arose he checked in with Mike, my Wachtel arborist. Eric and Pooch were a precision team! Thank you for doing the work you do. Trees are a property investment and with the help of the Wachtel Tree service team, my trees should have a long, healthy life. Thank you, Mike, Eric and Pooch!
