Jake came out and gave me a quote. Had me on his schedule quickly. Reasonably priced. Safe. Flexible with my schedule. Had to cut limbs a few feet from the house. Carefully drove his truck in. Even though it was wet, he didn't tear up the yard. Even though it was so close to the house, he took care to drop safely. Highly recommend. If you need a tree trimmed or down, don't cut corners. Have it dropped professionally, and let Jake be the guy to do it.

I hired Truax to cut down about 20 trees surrounding our home in Great Cacapon. These trees were dead and poised to fall on our house. Truax did the job in a single day, they worked like a well oiled machine, no one was sitting around, everyone worked hard. They all wore safety helmets and other protective gear and they had tremendous equipment and machines. Some large tree parts had to be felled with expert precision so as not to hit our fencing or shed. Amazing skill was demonstrated and they cleaned the area very well. I highly recommend Truax.

I’ve used several different people for tree removal on our 20-acre valley property in Berkeley Springs. They’ve all been good. When I had some particularly complex trees to remove (steep hillside, some partial top-offs), folks in town pointed me to Jake Truax — partly because he climbs and prunes and also fells trees. His uncle built my cabin (and he helped out back then), so I made the call. It took about three weeks before he was able to put me in the schedule, but it was worth the wait. He dropped the trees right where they needed to go, cut them to log length, shredded what wasn’t good for firewood, and cleaned up well. His crew of three worked hard all day. The price was reasonable for the difficulty of the job and the amount of work they got done.

I called Truax Tree Svs on Easter morning about a large tree that was on the back of my house. Jake was here within a few hours to give me an estimate. He had his crew here a few hours after that. The tree was against several windows but none had broken on impact. The guys were able to remove the tree without causing any damage to the windows. They responded quickly, showed up when they said they were going to, were very professional, completed what they agreed to. I would highly recommend Truax Tree Service.
