Sox & Freeman Tree Expert Co did an exceptional job removing multiple trees and grinding the stumps around our 30-year-old log cabin. Andrew Walker, ISA Certified Arborist, carefully evaluated our property and clearly outlined what was needed to thin out the trees, improve airflow around the cabin, and eliminate risks from dead trees and invasive roots near our septic system. The crew arrived on time each day and worked efficiently while keeping our home and property completely safe during the removal process. Every evening, they left the site clean and organized. We hired Sox & Freeman back in August to trim back a tree that was leaning towards our house. We wanted to keep the tree if possible and were grateful for Andrew taking the time to assess the tree, reassure us that the root structure was strong, and inform us that all we needed to do was trim back certain beams and branches to maintain a safe amount of clearance around the house. The crew did excellent precision work, carefully removing branches in a way that provided clearance and still maintained the appearance of the tree. Rather than indiscriminately removing branches, the crew removed what was needed and left the rest intact. We were impressed by the care of the service and the company's commitment to preserving healthy trees. This was exactly what we wanted and we are very pleased with the work that was done.

I had 2 giant trees trimmed, a few saplings cut down, and a handful of stumps ground down. Both crews that came out were wonderful. Everyone did such a great job and left everything cleaner than when they came. They were also the least expensive of everyone I called. I highly recommend them!

For many years, a beautiful Red Oak tree lived between our neighbor’s house and ours. On June 26th, several large limbs fell on our neighbor’s roof, seriously damaging their home. We called Blake Roddy with Sox & Freeman to assess the damage. It was determined that the tree needed to be removed, but, in that moment, felt our home was not in imminent danger so we scheduled the removal for August 12th. On August 3rd, to our dismay, high winds and heavy rain caused the tree trunk to split. We did not know this occurred until our neighbor was informed by someone securing tarps on his roof on August 5th. The removal was now an emergency situation. Blake came to our home that evening and committed to having his team at our home early August 6th. He also advised us that it was too dangerous to stay in our home until the tree was removed. The next morning was windy and rainy from hurricane Debby, but that didn’t stop the crew from getting to work. They literally were risking their lives to remove the tree, and save our home from being completely destroyed. They worked tirelessly all day, removing enough of the tree to allow us to return to our home. They came back early Wednesday morning and spent much of the day finishing the job. They took time after the grueling work to ensure our property was clean and even arranged to have some of the tree dropped off to a local artist. Throughout their time at our home, the team provided updates, were friendly, focused and committed to their work. Their confidence and professionalism helped us remain calm during a few challenging days. Also, a special thanks to Dominion Energy. They killed power to the circuit so the team could boom over the power lines and work faster. They kept two linemen on site the entire day which was a huge help! Words cannot adequately express our gratitude to Blake, Will in the tree, James operating the crane, and the rest of the crew for their tireless work and determination to get the job done in the absolute worst conditions. Blake and his crews did an amazing job when my tree fell on my neighbors’s fence. Blake responded in a timely manner and the fallen 40 foot willow tree was quickly dispatched. Furthermore, Blake worked with me to take out a 75 foot Sweet Gum tree from my wooded backyard without damaging my neighbor’s fence or my prize cedar trees. Both crews were rock stars.
