I think this is my first Google review (maybe 2nd??). My experience with Sesmas was that bad. This is an example of not doing due diligence. Live and learn. I hired Sesmas because I see a lot of their trucks in the area, but I simply didn't do my due diligence. Had I gone to Yelp (2.5/5), I would've steered clear of them (as I primarily use Yelp, not Google). My story is simple. Asked them to cut down 2 trees and stump-grind. Charged $1,000 for it. I was desperate as I had roots coming up through the ground killing my grass and I was trying to re-sod before Christmas. Sales guy told me on 10/21 that my trees would be cut down on 10/29, BUT he tried to make me do all of the 811 pre-work. Told him that the 811 site doesn't allow me to do it UNLESS I represent that it is a DIY project, which this is not. This guy went back and forth with me until I finally convinced him to do what "contractors" do, and make the 811 arrangements. I should have canceled the order right then. That's on me though. They cut the trees down on 10/31, and scheduled stump-grinding for 11/6. My stumps finally were grinded yesterday - over a month later - on 12/10. Why did it take so long? Stump-grinder had to make THREE visits to my home. FIRST visit, he saw the markings and noticed that my fiber lines weren't marked (i.e., my provider did not respond to the 811 request; that's on my fiber provider). Stump-grinder shows up and sees that my fiber lines are not marked and let me know that he may cut the fiber lines, so we call off the grinding. SECOND visit, AFTER my fiber lines were marked, he notes that he'll end up cutting them. What's messed up is that I'd already sent photos of the markings to the sales guy (photos attached), who inexplicably did not send those photos to the stump-grinder. Just thoughtless stuff. Of course, I sent photos to try to make this process more efficient. The stump-grinder came out yesterday and completed the job on his THIRD visit (after I had my internet provider re-route my cables above-ground). My neighbor's internet line still was cut yesterday, eating up most of his day dealing with getting his fiber re-done, and I'll end up reimbursing him if they charge him for the $150 dispatch/repair fee. It is worth noting that the stump-grinder was extremely nice and I could tell he genuinely cared about the potential impact of his work (i.e., he didn't want to cut my lines, even if I had wanted to roll the dice and give him the green light; I appreciated that; THAT is good customer service). I would love to say that management cared, but I can't, as they thoughtlessly sent me an invoice for the full amount today after all I'd been through with them for the last month and a half. It came from the email of the operations manager who KNEW of the problems with this job, as the job was escalated to her when the sales guy stopped responding to my simple inquiries (i.e., the one attached; he didn't respond; I received a call from the same person who sent me the invoice for the full price of the job). I paid it immediately, because their decision to send me an invoice for the full $1,000 - given all I've sent them (regarding my confounding text communications with my sales guy) - truly does speak volumes about the company. Yes, this is a PSA TO USE YELP!! I use it for almost every new restaurant I'm going to try, but I dropped the ball and did not do it in this instance. I truly regret my lack of due diligence that opened the door to me hiring Sesmas. RESPONSE TO SESMAS INITIAL REPLY: I'll just post some the texts that reveal that Sesmas's response is, at best, inaccurate, and at worst, knowingly misleading. I redacted the salesperson's name. After the first two photos, the rest are in chronological order. The texts show (1) that I had to PROVE to the sales guy that Sesmas had to order the 811, (2) that the first 2 wasted stump-grinding visits were a result of Sesmas not checking the 811 status and then not forwarding the photos I sent to the stump-grinder and (3) other things if you read them.
I had a fantastic experience with Sesmas Tree Service, specifically Crew 3 and Cameron. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. Cameron did an excellent job scheduling my service—he was responsive, clear with communication, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. Crew 3 showed up on time and immediately impressed me with their experience and teamwork. The tree removal was done quickly, safely, and with obvious expertise. They were respectful of my property and left the area clean and tidy once the job was complete. It's rare to find a crew that works this seamlessly and takes such pride in their work. Highly recommend Sesmas, Crew 3, and Cameron for anyone in need of tree services. Top-notch service all around!
We recently partnered with Sesmas Tree Service and could not be more impressed with the results. Prior to their work, our walkways were overgrown, dark, and uninviting. In addition, several branches had begun encroaching onto residents’ balconies, creating hazardous conditions that needed immediate attention. The Sesmas team handled the project with the highest level of professionalism. They carefully trimmed and removed overgrowth, eliminated the safety concerns, and completely revitalized the space. The transformation is remarkable—the walkway now feels open, bright, and far more welcoming, while also being much safer for our residents. I am especially grateful to Sharnaé for referring us to Sesmas, and to Cameron, whose professionalism and clear communication throughout the entire process made everything seamless and stress-free. From start to finish, the crew was efficient, thorough, and respectful of the property. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality are evident in the outstanding results. We are extremely thankful for their expertise and highly recommend Sesmas Tree Service to any community or homeowner seeking reliable, professional tree care. They not only enhanced the aesthetics of our property but also resolved potential hazards with skill and precision.
We had three large trees taken down and their price was very good compared to four other estimates. There was some slight damage to our property, but that’s to be expected when dropping big trees so I wasn’t upset. Lindsay was amazing to work with an expected no payment until they had corrected the damages which they did in a timely manner. We will definitely use them again.
Hey sesmas , great service provided we all at grove point thank you for the service. Although we had communications issues at the start it was quickly addressed. Thanks Cameron! Fogelman sent appreciations.Shoutout Crew 5
