We’ve worked with Eli Walton of Pioneer Tree Service and Landscaping for ten years, ever since we purchased our six-acre wooded property in Oak Harbor. As a certified arborist, Eli has been invaluable in helping us identify the trees on our land and understand what they need to stay healthy. He also pointed out several dead or declining trees that needed to be removed for safety—guidance that has kept our property both beautiful and secure. Eli is an absolute pleasure to work with. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. We have never felt rushed during a consultation. He takes the time to explain what he’s seeing, answer questions, and make sure we fully understand our options. One example that stands out is when we asked him about two beautiful Japanese cedars at the entrance to our home. These trees tend to grow bulky and require annual pruning. Eli not only explained the proper approach but took the time to show us, step by step, how to prune them ourselves. He even recommended the exact tools we should purchase so we could maintain them safely and efficiently. We truly appreciated how freely he shared his expertise, especially knowing this was work we might handle on our own. His office staff is consistently professional and responsive, and the crew that comes to perform the work is always polite, efficient, and highly skilled. Third time we used their services. I wasn’t home for most of the work performed but my wife told me the crew who came out were nothing short of amazing. Very professional and friendly with our small grandchildren and dogs. Three 50-60 foot trees dropped safely with no damage to any of our other trees or fence (one was pretty close to our fence and they didn’t even graze it). Highly recommend Pioneer.

Had them remove a limb above our future home site. I wasn’t able to be on site to point out exactly which branch I wanted down, so I sent a photo instead. Even though they initially took down the wrong branch, they came out and remedied it right away! I appreciate them working with me and my unique needs.

The customer service from Pioneer was next level. I had already contacted another company and was told they'd be out when they could. With an overgrown yard and a toddler I didn't have time to wait, after giving the other company a week and half. Pioneer called and setup an appointment for someone to get me a quote the next business day. They came out, and got the quote to me same day, and were able to schedule the work the same week. They were in contact with me the whole time answering any questions I had and did an amazing job getting my yard in shape.

The professionalism and courtesy of Pioneer exemplified the care I was looking for to evaluate and trim my trees. I believe trees create a big part of “the view” and contribute to the well being of my community and the world. Finding qualified professionals to care for them mattered. They exceeded my expectations and I will trust them to continue to help me maintain this valuable element of my home.
