Dennis Hansen and his crew did a great job trimming my large oak and removing an elm in poor health near the house and a spruce so close to the powerlines that DTE had been cutting the side out of it. Dennis was very precise felling the spruce between two trees, stopping a few times to check his cut. The elm trunk will be removed at a later date and I had them leave the spruce stump since it's out of the way and could be useful. My only unresolved concern which I noticed while they were working on it was an oak branch sticking out over the road. While it looked otherwise healthy, Dennis said he shared my concern, though his issue if I understood correctly was that he wasn't comfortable removing it without a permit to work on or over the road, so I don't hold it against him at all. I plan to have assessments and maintenance done every few years anyway. I worked with both neighbors to make sure they would have the space to do the job quickly and safely without worrying about property lines, which the crew appreciated. To save some money, one of the neighbors agreed to keep the chips and logs on his property as a shared resource. When the neighbor realized we miscommunicated about where the logs were supposed to go (he would have had an issue with the township where they were placed), the crew moved them to the correct location a few hundred feet away at no cost after their boss approved the extra work. Dennis said they would take care of the large divots in the neighbor's property from the elm at no cost if it was an issue, though the neighbor was fine doing it himself. I didn't really know what to expect beyond what the arborist (Brad Dunkin) said, but I would say Owen exceeded my expectations. Thanks, guys!

We had a 50 year old 70’ tall Chinese Elm tree in our front yard, thirty feet from our home. It was fully mature, and had begun to drop large branches during high winds and ice storms. Two years ago during a windstorm, it shed a large branch that did $5,000 worth of damage to our house. It had to go. We contracted with Owen Tree Service to remove it. Their three man crew arrived at 7:30 am, and by 3pm the tree was gone, the wood and slash removed, and the ‘mess’ in our driveway and yard cleaned up. The stump will be ground later this week once Ms Dig gives her approval. The Owen crew were first class operators who knew their business. Outfitted with very good equipment, they made fast work of a big job, working safely and efficiently. These weren’t pickup workers; they’re professionals who know their equipment, worked swiftly, safely and efficiently, and above all, know trees. The price was fair and well in line with other quotes considering the level of skill required. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again.

We had a very big tree removed from our backyard last Friday afternoon. The crew was very professional, first class operators, who knew how to handle their equipment. They worked fast but safely and efficiently. We were told that on Monday they would be back to pick up the huge logs left in our front yard with a special crane truck. Monday Cody showed up, he did an excellent job picking up the logs and making sure not to damage the lawn in the process, he raked the area, pick up the debris making sure it was all cleaned and nice. Cody was not only professional, but he was very respectful and a very nice guy. I wish I knew the names of the crew that cut down the tree, they were all great. The price was fair for the size of the job. I highly recommend this company.

Dave Kidd designed all of our landscaping at our new house. He provided us with several low maintenance options to choose from, as requested. The install was scheduled in a timely manner and the job was completed quickly. The landscaping turned out beautiful and we get several compliments on it!

I have attached some pictures of the job Owen Tree Service did at my house this summer. The landscapers and stump grinder all did a great job! I'd also like to mention that I really enjoy working here!
