We had to have over 13 trees removed. We choose Mountain top tree service and they where able to start the next week. These where mature 40-80 foot hardwood trees near the house and power lines. The crew handled them with great care and professionalism. It took abit longer than we all thought but the crew stayed tough and even when our old maple fought them they kept going. Even handled dealing with miscommunications on our family's part, to many cooks in the kitchen, they handled it great! I would recommend them, and will be using them again!
One of the best tree services in Haywood County. This place offers decent prices and does actually show up to do the job.. unlike 4 or 5 competitors I'd called this yr. Also, the owner, Shannon Owens is an absolute sweetheart and has always tried to go above and beyond for his customers. I will definitely be calling them the next time I need any tree stuff done. Thank you, Shannon, Shawn, Tommy, Gibby, Jody and Alex.. you guys are truly amazing!. 🧡
[Review Edit/Update 2025: I'm finally getting around to updating this review. I had to drop them down a couple stars because they never did get back to me with the chipper to clean up the brush piles they had promised. Additionally, they had spike climbed a massive living red oak in order to get up to the adjacent dead tree they were roping off to drop. Within a mere 2 months of their work on site the entire Red oak died. We called an arborist out to diagnose it and they said it had been exposed to a fungas, most likely through the wounds to the tree from the spikes, and one limb that had been cut off incorrectly without enough left to form a branch collar, and it was thus exposed so profoundly that it was likely unsalvageable. We still paid the arborist for a systemic fungal treatment in hopes it could save this behemoth tree, but there was no guarantee it would work, and alas, it did not. Which meant paying for someone else to then come take the tree down, lest the giant fall on our house or across our neighbor's driveway. I've since spoken to several other tree companies for quotes on other projects, and have learned that a majority seem to try and avoid spike climbing healthy trees they don't intend to be cutting down, or, if they do spike climb, they're cautious about disinfecting their equipment between climbs in order to avoid introducing pathogens. Given the timing of our tree loss in proximity to their work, it doesn't seem these considerations/precautions were taken by Mountain Top Tree in the case of our Red Oak.] 2022: I called 4 different area tree services for quotes to take down some old dead trees that were threatening my home with each windstorm. Shannon and his crew showed up to give a quote the very same day I called. Fastest response from anyone! In the end they also ended of being the most reasonably priced for the workload list I'd written up as well. Unlike the other companies I contacted, Mountain Top Tee Removal quoted me a "day rate" to just come and take care of everything on my list (and extra if there ended up being any time) instead of charging per tree. This was a much more logical and economical approach and I'm very glad they offered it. Since most of what I needed taken care of was already dead and leaning, missing limbs, partially fallen, and or small in diameter they were able to get a lot done in a single day's work. The only downsides were that they arrived a little bit late the day of the job, and left a little bit early, so it was a 7 hour workday instead of 8. And their wood chipper was temporarily out of commission and they'd been waiting on a part for it to come back in for servicing it. Since I have a heavily wooded property I dont mind the downed tree's just being tossed into the woods out of the way or stacked neatly in piles as they did (they were mindful about cleanup of the areas they worked in so that was much appreciated), but I was really hoping to get 3 brush piles and some of the smaller logs chipped. I've requested that when they get the chipper back up and running if they could come back to do that part of the job for me. They told me they were still 2 weeks away from having the replacement part to fix chipper and they're booked a month out now with other jobs, so it could be a little while. Time will tell if they work it out somehow to come back and honor this part of the job request. I'll update my review when/if they do.
If you are looking for a reliable tree service company you have found it, Mountain Top Tree Service was very helpful to us, Shannon Owens and his crew did an amazing job, these guys work very hard, we hired them at both of our locations (Four Seasons Inn and Rollingbrook Inn) they came out immediately and got the job done. Shannon and his crew will take care of trimming, tree removal, and if needed they will make sure the tree stump gets grinding also they do a fabulous job in cleaning up behind themselves. Great job Shannon we thank you so much for taking care of us. We recommend this company and give them a 5*.
Shannon called me back immediately about getting a quote for trimming branches that were hanging over my house. We spoke on a Friday and the crew was at my house the following Monday! They were very pleasant guys and worked hard all day getting everything cleared and cleaned up. Prior to them I had called at least three other tree companies and no one ever followed up after a quote to actually do the job. Highly recommend Mountain Top Tree Service. They are quick to respond and perform great service for a great price!
