Update - Jason was responsive and did get people over very quickly, which was nice, I was very stressed about one tree hitting the house. I only cared for one tree to be cut down that faced the house. It had three trunks; one already fell and one was breaking towards my house. For context, this involved two yards so my neighbor (N) and I were working together. N decided to also cut the third trunk. N also asked for a dead tree cut since it could possibly hit my shed (neither N or I have a garage, just clarifying from Jason's response), but the tree was not a worry for me. I am specifically commenting on the work being not to what I felt was discussed. I did not expect cleanup work to be done for me; it was clear that the work was taking down the trees and that's it. True, the fence had some discussion about damage, and the fence was taken down in the areas deemed "risky", it just didn't go far enough and fair, Jason has a reasonable critique to what I said. I just expected to not have such a destructive tree take down, that the tree cutting would go as discussed originally, that all the trees would be fully on the ground for me to cut up after, and the stumps would be shorter (many were over 3 ft high)... I don't know if that is naive. What we originally discussed what that the tree I requested to be cut first (but it was not) and the tree would be lowered through the support of one of the adjacent trees (that was not what was done). Two additional trees ended up being cut. I felt the work was very destructive. Part of my yard near one of the trees cut has a very deep hole because the angled cuts done on the trees were almost vertical, so multiple trees cut fell bottom of the truck straight down into the ground rather than tipping over. One needed to be cut a second time since it got stuck in the ground. The crew lead didn't seem like he wanted me watching and told me how he's been doing this for 29 years. N later had said he was told something similar. When taking apart the fence, he took the fence bars and threw them onto some new gutter pieces. I also had felt uncomfortable when asked about what happened (during the tree cutting process, a tree fell on my neighbor's trailer) since I had never done much work for a house before - this is my first house, and we had moved in less than a year ago. When it happened, the crew leader turned around, shrugged, waived towards the tree, told me it "fell on its own" and it seemed like he was trying to convince me about that. I did not say whether it actually was caused by the crew, but I am saying it happened at the same time as cutting the rope used to pull the tree, which I feel like it should be taken more into consideration. I was already stressed being scared of the tree falling since it was planned on being cut first but it happened later, so I wasn't sure how balanced the tree was anymore since the other two trunks were now gone. I was then also stressed when there's a group of people unsure of what to do and then the team leader is trying to tell me it is unrelated, and then Jason coming and telling me that the team member said that and then asking me what I saw. I said I did not know whether it was related or not, although I wasn't sure whether it did really fall on its own. I said the rope did pass through the direction of the tree since they wrapped the rope around a tree a bit farther back. No one from the team or I had seen where the rope was when the tree fell or after, so I can't just say the crew did it or not, I really don't know. Originally, I was told there was no damage when they looked at the top of the trailer, but there was an obvious hole on the top. Also, with the tree that fell and hit the trailer, Jason asked the crew leader to remove the branch above the trailer, and when doing so, initially he let them fall when cut, which then again just hit the top of the trailer. Overall, I feel that N and I agreed to a plan and it should go that way. A drastic change in how the tree would be taken down would need to be rediscussed, but we weren't given a chance.

We had a great experience with Monster Tree! Jason and his team were fantastic, great to work with and very professional. Jason was very responsive to our questions, estimates and timing of taking down our pines. We had 7 trees taken down and removed within 3 days! We have several more trees we would like to remove and we will DEFINITELY be calling Monster Tree to take them down!

I don't know how many 5-star reviews these guys need, but here's another one. They trimmed an overgrown hemlock hedge that defines my property line and provides a natural screen from my neighbor. Using a lift on rubber tracks and sheets of plywood for protection, they topped and shaped the nine-trees, frankly, better than I imagined...my side and neighbor's side, with no ground damage. Their price was very reasonable (maybe somewhat due to this being a slow period), and the crew was very skilled. As usual, it was a fixed price job, but I didn't get a sense they were in a huge hurry. I watched them for a while, and then decided that they certainly didn't need my supervision. The franchise owner, Jason, was excellent to deal with; professional, knowledgeable, quick to respond, personable. I care a lot about my trees and I'd say I found a company I can trust and use in the future. 5+ stars
