MAPLE MAN - Japanese Maple Pruning

I found Shyam’s business card at our local spot, Sunnyside Nursery. After a few texts Shyman, he shared his YouTube link which has a great catalog of both pics and video of the many jobs he’s done over the years, great encyclopedia of his work! That was all the referral I needed, he later came by to view our job and give us a bid. We made a plan to have him come back in a few weeks. Shyam was prepared, on time and was very detailed in his work and pruned our beloved maples, dogwoods and some evergreens. Our landscape is about 3 years old, and we wanted a pro to get them started off in the right direction. We planned on a 1/2 day, and in about 4 hours he completed our job, about 10 trees in all. He was on time, on budget, hauled all the limbs away and explained his process along the way. Great work 10/10 ! 🍁

Professional and personable is how I’d describe our experience with Shyam as he resurrected our Japanese Maples after years of neglect. He was prompt with communication and arrived on time ready to breathe new life into our trees, using much skill and thought with each clip. It was refreshing to have a professional arborist who’s willing to share their knowledge and educate us how to work with the trees not against them. Doing so created a balance of what the trees natural growth pattern is and the expectations we had. We couldn’t be happier with the Maple Man and will seek him out in the future.

Our Japanese maple now looks incredible! Maple Man Shayne trimmed away the excess to reveal the beauty of our tree! We smile each time we walk by! Shayne was skilled, efficient, kind and friendly with a reasonable price for his expertise and experience! We will definitely hire him again!

We have a large cherry (Mt Fuji) and Japanese maple (Bloodgood) which had become overgrown – though we didn’t realize how much until we took some pictures! The cherry is our absolute favorite tree, and we were loathe to trust it (or the maple – which is directly in front of our porch) to anyone, but after a lot of internet searching, we found Maple Man. Shyam exceeded our expectations on both trees, performing structural and artistic pruning which created balance and just makes them a pleasure to behold. We’ll be adding our street strip Pacific Sunset maples to the list next year!

Maple Man did an awesome job pruning two of our Japanese maples today in Anacortes. The Arakawa was much too big and bushy, blocking our view leaving the driveway so we were blind to cross traffic. He really opened it up to expose the beautiful rough and corky bark and now we can see oncoming cars to avoid. He was so easy to work with and educated us on how to do future maintenance ourselves if we wanted. We would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone. Thank you Maple Man (Shyam)!
