Over the last 4 years I've found that there's a lot of predatory rip-off companies out there. It feels like navigating a minefield. So, I was very nervous when we had 7 huge trash cypress trees that were a genuine safety concern and needed them removed. It was a big job that required experience and knowledge to bring execute it, and I was dreading having to try to discern the predatory trimmers from the good guys. We received 5 bids. The spread between them was staggering - between the top and bottom bid was 18k - that's right, almost twenty thousand dollars. When we asked the various companies how they arrived at their number, only 2 were willing to provide their cost breakdowns. One was King Stump Grinding and Tree Removal. King Stump Grinding also treated my wife with respect and was willing to answer her questions about the job. They were the standout. We did have to wait a few weeks for them to arrive as they are booked out quite a bit, but it was worth it. At every step of the job they kept me informed as to what was happening. They explained some of the challenges and what they would have to do to mitigate them. They had to move a few things around my yard and always asked for permission before doing anything. They did end up running over-schedule but - as I said earlier - it was a gigantic job. They did everything they could to expedite the job, and the owner himself worked over the weekend to tighten up the schedule. At the end of the day the value of the work I got for the price I paid was extremely high. They did everything they said they would do and would have done more if I had asked them to, and they were very clear about the trade-offs at every step of the way. I really feel strongly that I picked the best trimmer I could have out of the ones we screened and that we got the greatest "bang for the buck" in terms of cost, experience, and professionalism. Duard, Isaac and the rest of Duard's team are delightful to work with! They are professional and efficient and go above and beyond in customer service, assistance, and satisfaction. Not only did they grind the stumps left from the removal of 5 large (over 100' tall) cedar trees, they also helped pound some post anchors into the ground for me. When they were done, the shavings from the stump grinding were hauled away and I was able to transform my back yard in a way I didn't think possible. Professional. Trimmed branches and took one tree down. Also cleaned area with cherry tree offsprings. Everything raked and tree and branches disposed up. Very happy with the results and price.

King's Stump Grinding is very knowledgable and trustworthy. We had two 60+ Douglas fir trees along our property line. We recently moved into the home so we did not know how long they were dead for and felt the location of these trees might cause harm or damage to property. Mr. King shared our concerns and provided us with a quote right away. I felt the price was fair and under what I was expecting (I was thinking we needed a crane or lift). On the day of the scheduled tree felling, weather was cooperative and we witnesses a very clever and brave individual climb the tree at least 30 feet up. Mr. King and crew were well equipped and the kids enjoyed watching. All went well and we were able to perform both tree felling in one day!
