I had a great experience working with Jon Quinn of Hartney Greymont. Jon conducted a thorough assessment of my property’s entire landscape — lawn, trees, and shrubs — and clearly explained and documented his findings and recommendations. He identified a crack at the union of a tree and recommended installing a support cable to stabilize it, and he proposed a measured treatment plan for another 50‑ft tree that has small pockets of decay and dead bark rather than immediately recommending removal. That balanced approach (versus others who only suggested insect treatments or full removal) gave me confidence in his judgment. Jon patiently answered every question I had and made sure I understood and felt comfortable with each proposed plan. The crews who performed the work were courteous and professional, followed Jon’s directions, and left the site clean and orderly when the job was complete. I highly recommend Jon Quinn and Hartney Greymont for thoughtful, safety‑minded tree care and landscape assessment. Their combination of careful diagnosis, clear communication, and professional execution made this a positive experience.

When a 50 foot elm fell onto our house during a strong wind storm, I called multiple companies for quotes and assistance. The team at Hartney Greymont was one of the first teams available to come to our house. We spoke with John who was very knowledgeable about trees. Their pricing was competitive and a great value for the service and care that is provided. They were able to finish the bulk of the work done on the weekend (which was a priority for us but a difficult ask for many of the other companies I had contacted). I really appreciate the great service the team provided and the care they've shown for the long-term health of trees. I recommend without hesitation!

We couldn’t be happier with the incredible pruning job that Hartney Pruning and their team—Mike and Alana—did in our front and back garden yesterday. They are, without question, the most customer-focused and genuinely friendly crew we’ve ever worked with. From start to finish, they were complete pros—skilled, efficient, and clearly passionate about their work. Beyond the pruning itself, they were more than happy to share thoughtful advice on other aspects of the garden, going above and beyond what was expected. Since they finished, several neighbors walking by have stopped to rave about how amazing the garden looks. We couldn’t agree more. We absolutely love these guys and wouldn’t use anyone else for any future garden work. I can’t recommend Hartney Pruning highly enough—such a classy, professional, and personable team.

Overall, an excellent result! A month or so ahead of the work, we really appreciated Jonathan’s willingness to iterate with us until we had a proposal that met our needs. Communication about the likely service date was timely. After the crew did its first day of work, Jon returned to the site and was very customer-oriented, listening carefully to and noting down our observations on what was still needed to complete the job to our satisfaction (e.g., pruning higher levels of the trees and having a bucket-truck to reach them). After the crew returned for a second day, we let Jon know that several small items still needed doing. He returned two days later to take care of them himself. We’d definitely use Hartney-Greymont again.
