We hired Evan and crew to remove a standing-dead Tulip Poplar that had been struck by lightning. While we were getting ready for the scheduled date, the massive (and I mean biggest anyone has ever seen at a home) Sweet Gum tree beside our house started dropping live limbs. That tree has been very well maintained and even had strapping in the crown to keep it from splitting out. It just seemed that things had changed since the hurricane and we had a bumper crop of gum balls for this year and that tree was bearing A LOT of weight. Unfortunately, it was time for it to go...even though it shaded our entire home for most of the day. Evan came out and gave us an updated estimate for taking down both trees and leaving them for me to work up because I have the resources to do that. It was real hard for me to let that tree go but it was the right thing to do and the crew was out within days and both trees were down, which was lucky because a microburst came through the neighborhood within a week and took the tops out of several neighbors trees. I truly believe that the Sweet Gum would have destroyed at least our screen porch and likely our living room and office. The crew did a great job getting both trees down without damaging the house of the property. They even kept their original quote even though they could have easily charged us more because of the size of the tree and they even removed one of the stumps. I couldn't be happier with their work. I highly recommend these guys for all of your tree work.
